Colors - Alpha Release

I am very pleased to announce an Alpha release of the new tool called Colors! big_smile

Color picker that helps users easily select a desired color using various pallets. It is able to pick color from the currently displayed screen content and supports a number of different color models, i.e. RGB, HSV, HLS, CMYK.

Not every functionality is implement yet, e.g. saving settings, CMYK color model, and few other features - but it is already a very useful color picker tool. As of this moment, I will not be able to work on any suggestions regarding this tool because I still have a lot of work to do on making it ready for the proper release.

You are welcome to try it out, it is available for download here: Colors - Alpha Release (ZIP).

Yes, that's true ozzii. smile

Denis, having problems with this new app on a dual setup. I noticed that yesterday's build was much better than the previous, as one screen would turn completely white.

Re: Colors - Alpha Release

I tried to address all of the issues that people were experiencing on multi-monitor setups. If anyone is still having problems with the latest development version, please report back.

For the reference, here is the bug report:
Colors (alpha) 'Pick from Screen' multi-monitor problems.

Re: Colors - Alpha Release

Everything looks good so far except Colors seems to think that all screens are the same resolution. So if your other monitor is shorter in pixels than that picker dialog doesn't flip up when trying to capture a pixel near the bottom.

Also settings can't be saved...but I'm sure that will come later.

I have addressed that, but as always couldn't verify in practice... Please let me know whether the problem is fixed in the latest built.

Nope, now the picker dialog is on one monitor while the cross hair is on the other:

Re: Colors - Alpha Release

I was finally able to reproduce a similar setup with two monitors where 2nd is on the left side of the primary. This exposed the problem and I think I got to the bottom of it. Color picking functionality now works as intended on my setup.

Can you please confirm it on your end?
