Re: access violation address error for shell32.dll on windows 98se

I was able to reproduce this error on Windows 98, and I have found what was causing it. The problem was in getting the paths/icons/names of shell folders: Desktop and My Documents. I fixed it, simply by removing those items from the tree in the browse dialog for platforms that give that error, e.g. Windows 98. So you'll see only the drives as the root nodes... while Windows NT-2000-XP users will also see Desktop and My Documents folders as root nodes.

This fix doesn't limit the functionality in any way, you still able to access Desktop and My Documents via the drive nodes, but it simply would not be as handy as it is supposed to be.

Download the latest development version: ReNamerBeta.zip

Try it, and tell me how it goes, ok?
