Re: User Inactive event does not work on Windows 11

Which version of Shutter are you using?

Have you tried all 3 methods of monitoring user inactivity: Last Input, Low Level Hook, Injection Hook?

Also, try the latest development version of Shutter, currently v4.4.0.8 Beta.

Re: User Inactive event does not work on Windows 11

I was not able to reproduce your issue.

The User Inactive event using the default Last Input mechanism is working as expected on Windows 11.

Tested with Shutter 4.4.0.8 Beta on Windows 11 Pro 21H2.

It is possible that you have an application or a driver that disrupts the user inactivity sensor in Windows.

That's impossible to say without an in-depth investigation of your system.

Start eliminating various 3rd party software and drivers. For example, try booting into Safe Mode, and then check if inactivity timer works.

Re: User Inactive event does not work on Windows 11

it works when booting in safe mode , but then what to do after
a technician from microsoft works on it for 2 hours then he told me that next day ther will be a technician level 2 will try to solve
the problem, but after 2 hours the only recommandations was to reinstall w11.
i ll do it but the problem was still there.

Re: User Inactive event does not work on Windows 11

First, I would try disabling automatic startup of all 3rd party software. Does that fix the problem? If that doesn't work, you could try eliminating one software at a time by uninstalling/rebooting/reinstalling.

A more radical alternative is to do a clean reinstall of Windows. Then keep checking if the problem gets reintroduced after installing some 3rd party software, including drivers.
