Case change based on masterlist of words (rather than force fragments)

The Case Rule has the force change case for fragments section.
For a limited non-recurrent usage, this is fine.

But often professionals working in specific industries have a lot of technical acronyms that have specific cases.
For them, it would be more intuitive to change all those cases by default.

So, in addition to the force change case for fragments section, there should be a facility to use a master list of words for changing case.

Let the user create a plain text file with one word in each line, with exact case.
Also provide an option to "Search whole words only" (skip all partial matches).

Many of the acronyms are already available online.
So the user can easily create a master list for himself. In addition, they can share such files through the forum.

Re: Case change based on masterlist of words (rather than force fragments)

For example, here are some acronym lists:

1. Telecom engineering (list)
2. Civil engineering (link)
3. Electrical engineering (link1) (link2)
4. Electronics engineering (link)
3. Accounting (link)

This website has a huge collection of acronyms used in multiple fields (medical and engineering fields)

Re: Case change based on masterlist of words (rather than force fragments)

That is an interesting suggestion.

This feature might fit well in a separate rule, along with your other related suggestions, i.e. Capitalize the character that follows the specified characters; In the Force case fragments, please allow partial matches.

The existing "Force case for fragments" option would migrate to the new dedicated rule. The user would be able to enter the fragments manually or specify an external file, as per your suggestion.

How shall we call this new rule? "Case fragments"?

Re: Case change based on masterlist of words (rather than force fragments)

Well, essentially all the case conversion options offered by Renamer are split among these two Rules.
The user should be made aware of that.

So, I suggest naming them like this:

Case conversion - Basic
Case conversion - Advanced

If these names are too long (for the Rule list in the left pane), then use the shortened version-

Case - Basic
Case - Advanced
