Moving files automatically

Hi,

I'm wondering how to move automatically files to a specific folder after renaming them.

Thanks a lot,

You can just insert the new path (relative or absolute) into the new name.

For example, insert "C:\New\Folder\" as a prefix to move all files to that location during the renaming operation.

Re: Moving files automatically

The above answer for adding a path prefix to move the copied files works for me.  Combine that with the new File:FolderPath on the Beta version and I am quite happy with the result.  There is a problem thought.  I want the moved images to be in the same sort order as the original folders they were moved from but they are all mixed up.  Is there a way to sort them in the same order that they were in before they were taken out of all the subfolders.  For example,

Folder 01\Image 1
Folder 02\Image 2
Folder 03\Image 3

After being re-named and moved to a new folder they would follow the same order without folders of subfolders.

NewFolder\Image1, Image,2 Image 3 ... same order with the folders and subfolders removed.

Sure, just use the Serialize rule.

You can also sort by the Path or other columns prior to applying the Serialize rule to ensure a particular grouping and ordering.

P.S. Your post appears to be a duplicate of a topic Keep moved files in same order as in parent folders after moving. Let's continue the conversation there.
