[Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

Delete whole old file name completely
Remove whole old file name completely

I want to suggest an additional text for the Remove rule below "Note:":

Tip: Check this and use an single '*' only to remove the whole old file name

(or like that big_smile)

EDIT: changed the subject line

Re: [Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

I don't think it is suitable for the Remove rule. Delete rule would be more appropriate.

The easiest and the most efficient way to delete the original filename is by using:
1) Delete: Delete from Position 1 until the End (skip extension)

Re: [Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

Suggestion 1

Delete Rule: [_] Delete the current name

Would just set the options "Delete from Position 1 until the End (skip extension)" after clicking [Add Rule]

Suggestion 2

Insert Rule: [_] Replace the current name

Re: [Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

How about adding this option to "Where" radio button group in Insert and Serialize rules ?

For example:

( ) Prefix
( ) Suffix
( ) Position ...
( ) After text ...
( ) Before text ...
(o) Replace original

[X] Skip extension

Re: [Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

I would vote Yes for
Insert : Where: (o) Replace original

-

*I* see no real need for
Serialize : Where: (o) Replace original

-

*I* still see an use for
Delete: [X] Delete original name
Because there I would look for deleting the original name.
All other rules as 'Insert' and 'Serialize' could relay on first using "Delete: [X] Delete original" rule.

So since 'Insert' dialog have not much space, and for 'Serialize' I see no direct need, I want to vote still for "Delete: [X] Delete original".

It's not for my own use. I know how to do it on my own, but for new or random users I see the need for my suggestion.

"""I want to remove the current name. Where is that option? Perhaps in 'Remove' or 'Delete' or 'CleanUp'?..."""

Re: [Suggestion] Remove whole old file name completely

Note: in 'UserInput' this is called "Replace current name", not "original name".

Just to note to be consistent, what ever you want to do.
