Rename emails (*.eml) with subject line

I'm working through renaming 20,000+ files . . . a large number are .eml files (Windows Live Mail).  I'm stumped on how to REPLACE the email file name.  I need to get this done as I'm under a time limit to complete the task.  I just haven't been able to figure out how to do it.

In Windows Explorer this is what I see in the header under "Name"........
0C71338F-00000009.eml .  I need to replace the letters and numbers with the actual Subject line.

In Windows Explorer, both "Subject" and "Title" headers show the original email name.

In the named file above, replacing "Name" with either "Subject" or "Title" would rename the email to:
Re: Proposed Family Name.eml

Will someone please help me with this?

As an aside, I am so impressed with Renamer that I purchased it earlier today.  I'm not well versed in coding or functions, etc.  Given the tasks ahead of me, finding a software that did so much and for FREE was an amazing find.  I felt it only fair to purchase the software for all the work done to create such a great program and as well, to have this forum so active and responsive.  Thank you.

Re: Rename emails (*.eml) with subject line

You can use Meta Tags to insert email subject line and other email properties into the filename.

Add an Insert rule, click on Insert Meta Tag button, select "Email_Subject". This will add the subject line.

You could also add the sent date, by inserting "Email_DateSent" meta tag, to serialize the emails and avoid potential conflicts with the duplicated subject line. You can adjust the date format in the Settings > Meta Tags.

Note that you may encounter some invalid filename characters, such as ":" (colon) character, coming from the email subject line. You could fix those with a Strip rule, for example.

You can also find the documentation on the wiki:

Re: Rename emails (*.eml) with subject line

I don't know your name but I'm so grateful for your answer.

You're absolutely correct.  It's imperative that I have the emails, documents, graphics in date order as you mentioned.  YYYY-MM-DD plus the time.  I did everything you suggested and most of the Meta Tags gave me the results I need. There are 8 of the test files that have "illegal characters".  I've removed ? ( ) : and still get errors but you suggested using "Strip" and I didn't use that.  I'll try it and will also check the Wiki file.  I'll post again if I can't get rid of the problem characters.

Thank you again.  I'm very appreciative of you taking the time to answer me.
