Stay awake during windows updates

Greetings.
I use shutter very simply no user interaction for 1 hour then shutdown.

What I would like is to keep that but make it pause during file download of windows update.

Any help please.

You could try using a combination of 3 events, for example:

1) User Inactive: Inactive for 1:00:00 using Last Input Event
2) CPU Usage: Below 10% for 600 seconds
3) Network Usage: Below 10 KB/s for 600 seconds

These should be used with "ALL" logic to achieve the desired effect.

You will probably want to play around with the specific parameters to make sure it works for you.

Wow. Thanks for the great answer, worked as you said it would no alterations required.

Now may i ask another question:
email client's polling for emails, this resets the counter any way round this.

You could quit the email client

Alternatively, you could try monitoring for a Windows Update related process, or maybe scheduling it at other known times.
