Change the modified date to the date embedded in the file name

Can someone help me please? I am 52 years old have no idea what I'm doing!

When I download my photos after having back them up, the modified date is the date and time I downloaded the photos and not the date and time I took the photos; see filename.

Photo 104 2019-06-14 14-37-42.jpg; Modified Date: 6/26/2019 5:15 PM
Photo 105 2019-06-14 14-39-35.jpg; Modified Date: 6/26/2019 5:15 PM
Photo 106 2019-06-14 14-44-27.jpg; Modified Date: 6/26/2019 5:15 PM
Photo 107 2019-06-14 14-45-56.jpg; Modified Date: 6/26/2019 5:15 PM

I would like to make the modified date equal to the time and date I took the photos, but I have no idea how to use Pascal.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Joe

Re: Change the modified date to the date embedded in the file name

ReNamer was designed to modify the filenames, but not the content or the meta data associated with the file. Although it is possible to achieve this using the Pascal Script rule, it is better to know what you are doing as there are certain risks involved.

Instead, why not leave the modified date as is, and use the date when the photo was taken (see the EXIF_Date meta tag) to rename the photos accordingly?

Hi Joe,

The modify date will change always if you do something with your files.
Why not enabling the "create time"-column of your file manager then if you need that information?
