Confusing 00:00:00

first of all,i just want to say today is my first day to use Shutter,i randomly find it in softpedia.com
it's really simple and great,i like it right away! just what i need
the most useful feature for me is "Start event when program starts"
i think every shutdown program should have this feature, but not
let me explain why i love it:
1.set BIOS to start pc automatically at specific time (for example:AM 08:00 daily...etc)
2.after login,ADSLKeepAlive launches and starts P2P program when connected
3.Of course,Shutter "Auto Run" & "Start event when program starts" (for example:countdown 10 hours)
4.when time is up,pc shuts down and waits another BIOS wake up

all you have to do is set up your programs and leave
i always want to do this cool thing
however i find a small problem (not bug)
i thought if i set countdown to 00:00:00,the counter would be deactivated
but i was wrong, and what bad luck is you also set Shutter "Auto Run" & "Start event when program starts"
the result is pc shuts down immediately after login, you don't even have a chance to cancel Shutter
my solution is to use another harddisk to boot and uninstall it
and remember not to set 00:00:00 again
i still like it very much,it's free, easy interface, and supported by a good author
Shutter is just wonderful
Really Thank You!

ADSLKeepAlive http://www.chewey.ukshells.co.uk/adslkeepalive/
3.2 download links seem down,3.0 download link here

another impressive shutdown program is ShutdownTimer
http://www.infomatic.de/
but it is shareware, you need to type temporary key every time
the idea is good, but its limitation is inconvenient
Shutter is good enough

Re: Confusing 00:00:00

Hi Ghost,

I'm glad that you find Shutter very useful, and I'm very sorry for your unwanted experience with 00:00:00 countdown timer!

Users often try different option and combinations of them - even if they were not meant to be used together, and sometimes they don't fully understand the possible consequences...

Why would you set it to 00:00:00 with Shutdown action? I'm curious, what effect did you try to achieve? smile

i forgot right-click on tray icon

Re: Confusing 00:00:00

"Start" and "Stop" buttons will start and stop (accordingly) currently selected event. And one more thing, you would not be able to edit the time if event would have been started already! So, I suppose you stopped an event, then set countdown timer to 00:00:00, and then started an event again wink

And here comes trouble.. computer constantly turns it-self off, once Shutter is launched, which happens once you log in :dead:
