Rename and copy files

Hi,
I am new to ReNamer, but have tested it to rename pictures in a folder with subfolders and a lot of jpg's in each of them. Like this:

Folder Pictures
Subfolder1
001.jpg -> PIC 0001.jpg
002.jpg -> PIC 0002.jpg
003.jpg -> PIC 0003.jpg
...
Subfolder2
001.jpg -> PIC 0044.jpg
002.jpg -> PIC 0045.jpg
003.jpg -> PIC 0046.jpg
...
Subfolder3
001.jpg -> PIC 0123.jpg
...

I renamed the jpg files to have a new prefix and a serialize no. All jpg's sorted on EXIF date. All the files got unique filenames. This was no problem, but I would also like to make a copy of all the files to a new folder, so all the files would exist in the same folder for burning to a DVD.

How can I do that with ReNamer?

Re: Rename and copy files

For copying files you'd need to have a custom PascalScript etc. But I don't understand... when something can be done so easily manually, why would you want to unnecessarily complicate things?

Since you have a folder structure like the following:

Pictures
L Subfolder1
L Subfolder2
L Subfolder3

1) Simply open the Pictures top-level folder in Windows Explorer.

2) Select the folder name and press F3 or the Search button on the toolbar.

3) Press Enter or the Search button without specifying any file names (this will search for all files in the current folder, and if you have the option selected, in all its subfolders as well).

4) Press Ctrl+A to select all the files, copy them and paste them to the destination folder. Voilà, you're done! smile
