Do you want to validate 9999 files?

This operation may take several minutes...

What does it mean? I don't understand the meaning of this operation.
What is it doing? Didn't find anything in the help guideline.

Usually I skip this.

Re: Do you want to validate 9999 files?

The validation procedure is covered in these wiki articles:
https://www.den4b.com/wiki/ReNamer:Validation
https://www.den4b.com/wiki/ReNamer:Failed_renaming

Basically, this process tries to identify potential file renaming issues before the actual renaming happens.

The validation process becomes noticeably slower when you get to a very large number of files. This simple warning was added so that users could choose to skip it (while understanding the potential dangers) or/and opt for manually triggered validation instead of automatic (after every change in renaming rules).
