Examples of using the rules

I am looking for examples to use the ReNamer rules. This is one webpage I discovered by an internet search that describes numerous examples of the rule Rearrange. https://www.den4b.com/wiki/ReNamer:Rule … e_Examples.

The examples are very helpful in constructing the rule for many situations that I may face. So, I am looking for the examples webpages for the other rules, but I don't see any information where to find them on the documentation pages of ReNamer https://www.den4b.com/docs/books/renamer or anywhere else.

Any help will be appreciated.

This forum itself provides many use cases and examples for the different renaming tasks that users face. The forum's built-in search is quite basic, but you can search the forum with more sophisticated search engines. For example, use Google's site search operator by adding `site:den4b.com/forum` to your query.

Additionally, mainstream AI chatbots can suggest solutions for specific renaming challenges. Describe the task in a prompt and link the official documentation and the forum. It should give you some ideas.

Last but not least, if you are still struggling, ask here on the forum. Make sure to describe the problem well and provide sample input and expected output filenames.

Requiring users to use Google and AI search indicates that the new support pages are poorly organized. The use cases and examples were easily found the previous support site.

Similarly, sure I can ask for help with specific renaming goals that I may need. It, however, slows the completion of the task I have on hand, now that I have to wait for responses, if any come at all. Previously, by looking at the examples on the legacy support webpage, I could figure it out myself.

I make another request to return the use cases and examples that existed on the legacy support site.

Since I found the webpage containing examples for one rule - Rearrange - it seems very likely that webpages for examples of the rest of the rules exist. For some reason, the links to those pages have not been carried over to the new support pages.

The page you found (Rearrange Examples) is an old community contribution. There is also a general page (Examples of Rules) that contains a few more examples and carries a notice that it is a work in progress. Neither page has been updated for many years. No further example pages were created for the individual rules, so nothing was left out when the documentation was updated and migrated to the new platform, except for these two legacy pages.

Creating and maintaining exhaustive examples for every rule is not feasible. The combinations and real-world use cases are effectively unlimited. The forum remains the best living source of concrete examples. Google site search (`site:den4b.com/forum`) usually surfaces relevant threads quickly.

If you have a specific renaming task right now, post the sample input filenames and the exact output you want. The community or support can usually suggest a working rule set without much delay.

A dedicated place for users to share examples would be useful in principle. At the moment, the forum is that place.
