Hi,
first of all, i really like the renamer! i only have one case, which i cannot solve. i hope it is possible with some help:
i have a bulk of images with the following names (just a few as explanation):
23081-630.jpg 23081.jpg
23082-030.jpg 23082.jpg
23084-236.jpg 23084.jpg
23084-630.jpg 23084.jpg
23090-550.jpg 23090.jpg
80245-630.jpg 80245.jpg
80600-252.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-273.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-320.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-331.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-510.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-545.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-550.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-560.jpg 80600.jpg
80606-031.jpg 80606.jpg
i can set the renamer so that the result is an name of the first 5 characters and the extention. but, sometimes there are 2 or 3 images of one numer, which has diferent names in the original names. what i would like is to give them an number if duplicate names would be expected. is that possible? so the result i would like is the folowing:
23081-630.jpg 23081.jpg
23082-030.jpg 23082.jpg
23084-236.jpg 23084.jpg
23084-630.jpg 230841.jpg
23090-550.jpg 23090.jpg
80245-630.jpg 80245.jpg
80600-252.jpg 80600.jpg
80600-273.jpg 806001.jpg
80600-320.jpg 806002.jpg
80600-331.jpg 806003.jpg
80600-510.jpg 806004.jpg
80600-545.jpg 806005.jpg
80600-550.jpg 806006.jpg
80600-560.jpg 806007.jpg
80606-031.jpg 80606.jpg
or if its not possible to only add an numer to the second duplicate, it could maybe be something like this:
23081-630.jpg 23081-1.jpg
23082-030.jpg 23082-1.jpg
23084-236.jpg 23084-1.jpg
23084-630.jpg 23084-2.jpg
23090-550.jpg 23090-1.jpg
80245-630.jpg 80245-1.jpg
80600-252.jpg 80600-1.jpg
80600-273.jpg 80600-2.jpg
80600-320.jpg 80600-3.jpg
80600-331.jpg 80600-4.jpg
80600-510.jpg 80600-5.jpg
80600-545.jpg 80600-6.jpg
80600-550.jpg 80600-7.jpg
80600-560.jpg 80600-8.jpg
80606-031.jpg 80606-1.jpg
i hope someone could tell me if theres a way to do something like this...
much thanks,
Bart

Hi Bart and welcome to the forum ![]()
Please try an PascalScript as last rule.
There is an script in your ReNamer install folder which do the trick I think ...
1.) add your rules as before
2.) add Rule PascalScript
___ 3.) click down right on [Scripts]
_______4.) choose "Serialize duplicates"
Click on Preview to see if it work.

Have a look at the Options menu (above files table),
there you'll find an option called "Fix confilcting new names"
