Just an idea to improve and speed up the export/import file name feature.
I like to suggest an new option "Export New Name to clipboard"
for some reason included quick modify in editor without storing an new file -- search this file -- open it in editor -- save it -- import it again
and an "Import New Name from clipboard" feature.
Edit: this could be done with "Rule > UserInput > Past from clip board"
This would pardon also the missed "Export New Name only"-option.

Sounds like a good and a very usefull feature!
I've implemented it as two new options: "Export new names to clipboard" and "Import new names from clipboard".
Try it from here: ReNamerBeta.zip

I want to suggest an new option
like "Export file paths and new names"
but export to clipboard instead for an quicker working.
Since i didn't need file paths i wanna suggest an option like "Export all enabled columns"
So if i have "Name" and "New Name" columns enabled, i wanna copy this to clipboard only.
If i had more columns enabled i want to copy all this columns.
But the main request is to put an list of "Name" AND "New Name" to clipboard
and paste this in forum as explanation for instructions (beside the preset rules export )
EDIT:
>implemented at 16. Aug. 2009< Thank you Denis.

Often i came across people who have the need to get all file names to modify them with an text editor or W0rd e.g.
We can do that with ReNamer and UserInput, but it's not easy
to explain all needed steps to get the list of all file names first,
yet not to mention how to get all the base names.
( *i* know steps, with rules and with "dir > list.txt" or like that. But to explain it to an
average user is to much mostly for an quick recommendation "Just use ReNamer for what you want" )
So i want to suggest two new Export options:
Export Name to clipboard
Export Name base to clipboard
(i find both useful too for "UserInput > Options drop-down" directly, but here as "Import names (base) from current list")
Then they would modify them with the tool they know well and
past them back via UserInput rule, ready to rename the list with the new names.

EDIT:
In the meantime i have found some old threads which inspired me to write an little how-to:
Export Name to clipboard
http://www.den4b.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1799#p1799
You can already export the filenames into the clipboard.
After you added your files to ReNamer, press Preview with no rules added
and the current names will appear in the New Name column.
Then you can simply use the "Export > Export New Names into Clipboard" option,
--modify the names in your prefers text editor and copy it again to the clipboard--
and use the "Export > Import New Names from Clipboard" option to put the modified names back into ReNamer.
Watch the preview and you're finished to rename.
Export Name base to clipboard
http://www.den4b.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5939#p5939
Add > Rule "Extension". Select nothing so that it will remove the extensions
and the current names will appear in the New Name column without the extensions.
Now click "Export > Export New Names into Clipboard".
--modify the names in your prefers text editor and copy it again to the clipboard--
Next, the Import option will not help you, so we have to go an different way:
Remove > Rule "Extension".
Add > Rule "UserInput".
[X] Skip Extensions.
Paste in the clipboard content by pressing Ctrl+V (or use the "Options > Paste from Clipboard")
Watch the preview and you're finished to rename.
Attention: take care not to add or remove lines in the exported list, or your file names will get messed up.
