Denis, I discovered that the AVI_Codec Meta-Tag gives an error using it with empty files.
I don't know if you are interested on fixing it, I just let you know...

Gives a "Critical" "Stream read error" and the preview stops.
I tried with an txt and the error it's given until the file has 12 bits.

The tag extraction process assumed that the input file is a valid AVI file. In the latest dev version I have implemented necessary exception handling to eliminate this error.
