Shutter is a multipurpose scheduling and automation utility. It monitors a configurable set of events and, when the conditions are met, executes one or more actions. Multiple events and actions can be combined and will execute in sequence.

Events cover a wide range of triggers: time-based countdowns and scheduled times, resource thresholds (CPU, network, disk), application and process state, connectivity and port monitoring, power and hardware conditions (battery, lid, full screen), file size changes, and custom program output.

Actions include power management, display and audio control, notifications, screenshots, program and window control, and workflow management, including sequencing multiple presets for more complex automation scenarios.

Desktop shortcuts let you trigger any action directly without opening the application. The built-in Web Interface enables remote control of the computer and displays live system information, including uptime, running processes, a desktop screenshot, and more.
