Main menu
This article describes the options available in the main menu.

| Add Files |
|
Open a file browser to select one or more files for hashing. |
| Add Folder |
|
Open a folder browser to select a folder. All files in the folder will be queued for hashing. |
| Hash Text |
|
Open the Hash Text dialog to compute hash values for an arbitrary text string. |
| Settings |
|
Open the Settings dialog. |
| Exit |
|
Close the application. |

| View Log |
|
Open the Log Viewer to review hashed files from the current session and export results to a file. |
| Save Log |
Ctrl+S |
Save the current log to a file directly, without opening the Log Viewer. |
| Clear Log |
|
Clear all entries from the current log. |
| Toggle Messages |
|
Show or hide the messages pane at the bottom of the main window. |
| Copy Messages |
|
Copy the contents of the messages pane to the clipboard. |
| Clear Messages |
|
Clear all entries from the messages pane. |

|
Skip the file currently being hashed. Active only during processing. |
| Cancel |
|
Cancel all queued files. Active only during processing. |

| Compare to next file |
|
Hold Shift when adding files to compare the current file against the next added file. Reflects the state of the Shift modifier. |
| Compare next two files |
|
Hold Ctrl when adding files to compare the next two added files against each other. Reflects the state of the Ctrl modifier. |
| Export file info to clipboard |
Ctrl+Shift+C |
Copy the current file's metadata and hash values to the clipboard as formatted text.
The exported text includes the file path, size in both human-readable and exact byte counts, attributes, creation and modification dates, and all computed hash values, formatted as a plain-text block suitable for pasting into a report or email. |
